Hannah “Scout” DeSimio is a dedicated mental health professional with over a decade of experience in child welfare, outpatient mental health, and homeless programming in the Kansas City community. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Social Work, providing her with a solid foundation in therapeutic practices.
Drawing on experience in Solutions-Focused Brief Therapy, MIndfulness, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing, Scout is passionate about walking alongside individuals as they navigate challenges and work toward meaningful change in their lives. She creates a supportive environment where clients can explore their identities, embrace self-acceptance, and integrate various aspects of their experiences. Scout empowers her clients to build resilience, challenge internal judgment, and overcome feelings of shame, ultimately paving the way for healthier, more fulfilling lives and relationships.
Recognized as a 2022 Kansas City Resilience Archives Award Recipient, Scout has been featured in media outlets such as The Beacon, KCUR, VoyageKC Magazine, and The Independent.
Outside of her professional work, Scout enjoys woodworking, gardening, and hiking with her family, all of which contribute to her holistic approach to wellness.
